Meet the Players

Daniel Johnson

Daniel “Danny” Johnson, born & raised in Lexington, Ky comes from a family full of musicians, singers & performers. It was at an early age, his parents & older brother (Keenan Helmes) realized his love for music. Growing up in church and watching his family members play instruments, it was there he became captivated by the drums. Without any lessons, he picked up the skill learning to play by ear at the age of 4. << New image with text >>

Tim has been playing bass guitar for over ten years. He grew up in the church where he discovered his
love for music. At the age of 16 he began taking guitar classes at Bryan Station High School. He began
playing for his local church. He then auditioned for the band Honey Child and began to play for them.
Since joining with the band he has performed all over Lexington and surrounding cities. We asked Tim to
describe his style and he said
“I’m just a laid back guy that loves music and was blessed with a gift. I’ve found inspiration from every
genre from country to hip hop and back again. I grew up listening to gospel music, I remember when I
was younger if I woke up on the weekends to my parents playing gospel music or grooving oldies. I was
about to spend the whole day cleaning.” As he chuckled “In all seriousness I’m grateful for those days. I
was exposed to people like Earth, Wind and Fire, Al Green, Marvin Gaye Kirk Franklin, Herbie Hancock
and so many more.” When asked where Tim sees himself in the next few years with the band he
answered. “I see myself still hanging with these guys, God’s been good to us. They are family and I love
what we do. I don’t know what the future holds but I would love to be touring.”
